Getting a model prepared for a photo-shoot is a lot of fun and joint cooperation. Some models who are serious about there portfolio. And they will go to the ends of the earth to prepare for a schedule job.  And believe me it is a job, hair makeup, wardrobe, skin etc.  I go through a system for all my models. I run a add on model mayhem for all new models looking for photographs. I provide there wardrobe, a MAC Makeup class. Which we will get all needed cosmetics for the photo-shoot. that will match there outfit. I normally like to get dresses for my models. And I also like to use props for them, instead of doing the same old portrait shooting.  I have been a hairdresser/makeup artist for 30 years and started doing photography 7 years ago.

 

My models photo-shoot is at the end of the month and it was every important to get the right makeup formula’s. We used MAC Makeup foundation Studio Face and Body Foundation., Studio Fix Smooth Wear Concealer, for the face.  Mac Makeup Brow set for the eyebrows, 3D Black Lash Mascara, Studio Fix Sculpt and Shape Contour Palette in Dark to Medium Tones.  The contour palette was also used for the eye shadows and highlighting on the brow bone.  Always remember to learn how to manipulate your makeup kit for all uses.  For the lips we used Retro Matte Lipstick and also as a pencil for the lips. All MAC products were used for this makeup up session. And I would highly recommend using this line for photography, the product will not move or dissipate in color tones.  But most of all you really have to clean the face and also in photography you have to use a primer for the outdoors. Especially in this Central Florida weather, or the makeup will melt off.

By doing all of these before a photo-shoot then you will have a winning session. I feel through experience.
