Model Using Mac Makeup For January Photo-Shoot

My first model for the new year is wearing a dress from Fashion-Nova.com a maxi-dress.  Also all of her cosmetic jewelry was from the same company. Before I do a photo-Shoot I like to have a makeup class to get the right colors for the shoot. A lot of times makeup outdoors will depend on the natural lighting given that day.  So I went for a natural application of MAC Makeup.  For all the makeup artists and hairdressers that read my blog you can go to any MAC store and book a 1 1/2 makeup class for you and your model.  It cost only $90.00 for the class and your model will get tons of samples to go home with. Also if you are a makeup artist or hairdresser you can apply for a MAC-PRO card and receive 30% off your purchases.

The first product we used was MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation, my model has freckles and I did not want to cover them up. I just wanted to get some coverage for the photography. Some tone to the skin. , Studio Fix concealer was also used to subdue any blue around the eyes. as you see below. NW24 was used for the application.  Both products have a very creamy consistency. And application was a breeze, without any feeling of full coverage.  A comfortable, lightweight fluid foundation with a unique blend of emollients that delivers sheer coverage and a satin finish. The moisturizing, long-wearing formula glides onto the face and body providing stay-true color.

We used a natural  eye shadow palette for the eyes, just to give the eyes a slight tone of color to them. This palette is called, “Amber Times Nine” also by Mac Makeup.  This well-edited palette features a color wave of amber hues that offer countless shade combinations. It provides an array of textures from matte to satin to frost for creating a variety of looks for both day and night. The saturated, soft and smooth hues are all packaged in one compact for easy portability.

  • Kitties: Pale bronze (Frost)

Shape and Shade Brow tint was used to detail the eyebrows and to give the shape and color.  Shape + Shade Brow Tint fuses the power of liquid and powder in a dual-ended product designed to define and set brows with ease. Fill brows effortlessly using the precision brush-tipped liquid liner on one end, then flip to the sponge on the other end to set your shape with the mess-free powder contained in the cap. This wax-infused powder makes brows smoother and gently holds them into place.

For our cheek powder we used Warm Soul BY MAC Makeup. Designed by and for professionals, formulated to provide fantastic color with ease and consistency. Applies evenly, adheres lightly to skin to achieve a natural-looking application of color. and also our lipstick we used was also a MAC product call, “Jubilee”.  M·A·C Lipstick – the iconic product that made M·A·C famous. This lightweight formula glides easily with sheer-to-medium coverage and a lustrous finish.

LIGHTENING THE EYE BROWS

Coloring your eyebrows can completely transform your face. Done properly, you can absolutely safely color, dye, lighten or darken your eyebrows.  I do it all the time in the salon.  Except I use cool colors for my lifting if I need it, or deposit only color if there is grey in the eyebrows.  There is little hazard in doing this service in the salon.  Brow tinting is a fairly safe treatment. The worst that can happen is mild irritation if the peroxide gets in your eyes.

Brows that are a totally different color from your hair are a dead giveaway that your hair color is not natural. So I say, go for it. Here are some tips for safe and effective brow tinting:

  • This is not a do-it-yourself project. At-home kits contain bleach, which can turn your brows reddish. I always use a cool or ash color especially if I am lifting the brow base color.
  • Most hairstylists are not brow coloring experts. Always use someone with experience in brow tinting. Call ahead to find out if the stylist does brows or if they can recommend someone who does.  Get your brows done when you get your hair done or right after. It’s easier for the stylist to find the right match.  Lightening the brows by just one shade can lift the face and make it appear fresher and less harsh.  Aging brows can be sparse. Darkening them can actually give the face definition.  Redheads in particular need their brows to complement their hair.
