Virgin Coconut Oil

A lot of times during the summer we all shower all the time being in Florida. And soap products can leave a film on your skin especially your feet, elbows and back. Soap cleaners are very strong and also leave films in the shower. So if it is leaving a film in the shower then it is leaving a film all over your body. That is why it is good to just use water to cleanse your body and leave shampoo’s to just your hair. Just taking a shower in water will alleviate any film let in the shower or your body.

When you are complete, finish with some real good Coconut oil for your hands, feet and all over. This is a lovely moisturizer for the skin and also in the hair. If you have chemically treated hair then the natural oils from the coconut will smooth out any and all fly aways you have when you are blow drying the hair. Just apply a little with your styling lotion make sure to mix the two ingredients well and not separately. Comb through and begin your blow dry.  Or if you go to the beach add some to wet hair and comb through and you will protect your color treated hair. Plus it will add moisture to it from the warmth of the sunshine.

I recommend Shea Moisture Daily Glow for all over the skin. A lot of models have known of using the coconut oils for their skin to keep it looking smooth and not a dry look. That is important for camera, especially for summer time photo-shoots.

I like to use this product for photo-shoots especially for the summer beach shoots. It give the skin a soft highlight. Smooth a small amount in circular motions over face and neck after cleansing. Skin feels softer with a healthy-looking glow. Wear alone or under makeup.  And you can see the glow from within upon application, no highlighter needed! I love the smell and texture, and it worked great for keeping foundation on all day. This product will dry smooth and not leave a oily feeling to your skin.

A Smooth Blow Out Is Important For Editorial Shoots! If That’s What You Want.

There are many reasons why your hair might not be co-operating perpetually dry hair, breakages, split ends, static, all contribute to a halo of fuzz. Our hair is made up of three layers and thousands of cells. The outer layer is the cuticle, which under a microscope looks like a grid of roof tiles. Their main purpose is to protect the hair’s cortex and they should, ideally, lie flat, giving the appearance of silky smooth hair. Lack of moisture, heat styling, chemical damage, you name it, cause these tiles to ruffle and before you know it you’re outlined in frizz.  When I am blow drying the hair in the salon or on a photo shoot I first spray into the toweled dried hair some Colour Fanatic. Photographed below and then comb through the hair. Lovely scent and easy to comb through and will give the hair protection from the all day blow drying, flat ironing, and curling done on a photo shoot. I also use this product in the salon on my clients for there finishing. Colour Fanatic has a lot of benefits for the hair.

Then I will take a quarter sized amount of the Agadir Argan Oil Hair Treatment Mixing the two products I get a lovely smooth blow dry for my clients and also my models. You can also use the two products separately, but I like to cocktail them together. If you use these two products together you will get a very, very smooth blow out!

Photo-shoot Products Yes or No

Instant Bronzing Shimmer Powder by Victoria’s Secret

When I do photo-shoot Victoria’s Secret has a lovely crème the models can use all over to smooth out the skin and make it glossy and add shimmer to the skin which will show up on camera. But my last trip to the store I could see a new product made by Victoria’s Secret called “Instant Bronzing Shimmer Powder”. So I took a look and decided to try out the product for my upcoming photo-shoot. The product stated, “Dust yourself in a head-to-toe glow. Beach Sexy Instant Bronzing Shimmer Powder with radiant mica leaves skin kissed with sexy bronze shimmer in one quick sweep. Perfect for décolleté, shoulders, arms and legs. Combines powder and brush for easy application”.

Well the product fell apart on me, the sables from the brush would fall out upon using it for a “Dusting” to the skin. Not enough product would come out and the shimmer product itself was not strong enough for a photo-shoot nor did hardly any product come out at all. . I am pretty heavy handed when it comes to body makeup but this product did not show up as abundantly as I would need for it to show up on camera. This product made be good for home use, but I don’t recommend it for professional use at all. Sorry not in my makeup kit! Joseph Kellner

Mascara’s and Eye Liners!

makeup advice!

In the salon when it comes to commercial photo-shoots, or model portfolio’s, I need to rely on a product that wont fade, smudge or disappear on my client!. That is why I prefer Maybelline Pots for all of my eyeliners!. The product is true to tone and wont smear all over the lid during application. It will have to dry for a few minutes. Blending of the product is an easy process if you use the proper blending tools. The tonal value of the product stays true to tone and the consistency will not smear or expand on the eye lid!

There are a lot of different colors to choose from depending on what look you are looking for. And the product is relatively affordable for the consumer and the professional.

Maybelline Stiletto LASH is a Winner with me 2013!

Excellent product for the lash’s, and is not caked or clumpy and it is a mascara that is easy and pliable to apply for the application.  I also use it for models who have a photo-shoot and have some grey hair to cover in the front hair-line. Excellent use’s comes from this product. I also use it for an eye liner in the salon. The product lasts and will make your lash’s look voluminous and sultry. Thicker yes is the word for the complete definition of the product. I like to apply a first coat then reapply the send coat. When on set I have no problems of stiffening of the lash’s and I can reapply whenever I want. Hands down a winner for me. Everyone should have this as a tool in their makeup kit.
