A Smooth Blow Out Is Important For Editorial Shoots! If That’s What You Want.

There are many reasons why your hair might not be co-operating perpetually dry hair, breakages, split ends, static, all contribute to a halo of fuzz. Our hair is made up of three layers and thousands of cells. The outer layer is the cuticle, which under a microscope looks like a grid of roof tiles. Their main purpose is to protect the hair’s cortex and they should, ideally, lie flat, giving the appearance of silky smooth hair. Lack of moisture, heat styling, chemical damage, you name it, cause these tiles to ruffle and before you know it you’re outlined in frizz.  When I am blow drying the hair in the salon or on a photo shoot I first spray into the toweled dried hair some Colour Fanatic. Photographed below and then comb through the hair. Lovely scent and easy to comb through and will give the hair protection from the all day blow drying, flat ironing, and curling done on a photo shoot. I also use this product in the salon on my clients for there finishing. Colour Fanatic has a lot of benefits for the hair.

Then I will take a quarter sized amount of the Agadir Argan Oil Hair Treatment Mixing the two products I get a lovely smooth blow dry for my clients and also my models. You can also use the two products separately, but I like to cocktail them together. If you use these two products together you will get a very, very smooth blow out!

When I am working on set it is important to choose the right styling product to use on the hair, if not I am screwed. During the very first shoot I am more willing to use a dry shampoo to create body in the hair and it will also give me a little holding factor for the first group of photographs. Using a working hair spray is fine if I am curling the hair or changing the style with the dress changes. But too much hair spray will drag down the hair and make it useless to recreate a style or change it.  I like to use the TIGI Dry Shampoo or the Victoria’s Secret Dry Shampoo, both are very nice to work with and also they both have some very nice scents.

Joseph Kellner SalonLayer TIGI Pro Day 2 Dry Shampoo through the hair and then blast through with a hairdryer for an even dispersal and a natural feeling. I can spray it in the hair and set the hair with hot rollers, curling irons, pencil sticks, etc and will get a great amount of volume and if I am working outside or in a well lighted studio any scalp sweating will all be absorbed. There is no feeling of build up with the product and it is easy to comb through. Wonderful to use at home for in between shampoo’s.

  • Adds volume and texture
  • Refreshes the hair
  • Absorbs excess oil

TIGI PRO Day 2 Dry Shampoo is perfect to use between washes. Instantly refreshes the hair, absorbing excess oil and adding volume and texture. I recommend it for in salon usage and also for on set photography.  And by the way the Victoria’s Secret Dry Shampoo Is Discontinued.  Shit!!!!
