Hair Color Before And After Part Two

Two weeks ago I made a blog on my model who is having hair color correction. The other day we went to work on the hair by adding low lights to the hair color to start giving it a fall color and added dimension. Which it lacked.  We added low lights to the hair which was in the level seven family and also added a ash color to complement it. We have finally cancelled out all of the yellow in her hair. The next appointment will be for highlights. To soften the dark root color.  I gave the client a bottle of Frost hair color toner to use every week. This will keep her hair color on mark and will stop all fading of it also.

This toner is used for pre-lightened hair. It’s a great hair product that won’t damage your hair! It actually restores the pH balance of your hair and makes it oh so soft. It improves the quality and shine of your hair while soothing your scalp all at the same time!!

Shine Nectar For My Photo-Shoot Model

Over the weekend I had a photo-shoot with a very talented model who came down from Michigan. She had ethnic Hair and I wanted separation and shine to the hair for this photo-shoot. I used Shine Nectar from Jack Winn.  For separation and shine. The product did not weight the hair down at all. Nor did it make it greasy. Very easy to work with. The product had a very light scent to it.  A clean scent. Lovely. Great for styling the hair and for shine.

The makeup for this photo-shoot was MAC Makeup. Location of this photo-shoot was in Orlando, Florida.

Design Spray 9 Great For Thermal Styling

Setting the hair and preparing for a photo-shoot is important. You need to place a buffer on the hair from the heat of thermo styling tools. Especially if the hair is blonde. Blonde hair is lightened to the highest levels and will often break if the heat of a styling tool is set too high. Temperature is very important when curling the hair and straightening the hair. I like to use a light weight hair spray for buffering the hair when styling and also light weight enough for working with the hair.

Try using the Kenra Design Spray 9 for your styling aids. It is a very light weight product and also is good for working with the hair and styling it in place. But not strong enough for a firm hold.

Tames frizz & flyaways, Lightweight, brush-able formula, Provides enhanced definition for moveable styles. One side sprayed with the styling spray the other with nothing. As you can see you get a smooth non flyaway finish.

Redken Hair Color Change For Fall

This Model was prepared for her Photo-Shoot this week and requested a deeper color all over. I also suggested that it would be a good idea since the hair was dry and brittle from constant overlapping and flat ironing.  When ever you use a curling iron or flat iron. Always prep the hair with a styling lotion and dry all of the hair thoroughly. Section your hair and curl or straighten it and use a dry hair spray on each section to protect it.  Don’t use any products with moisture in it.

A level 4.3 and 6.4 was mixed for the new-growth and also the same formula for the mid shaft and ends of the hair. With varying developer strengths. Shea Moisture Cosmetics was used to wash and condition the hair. And for styling the hair. Excellent product to work with. There was no color gloss’s added to the hair of the completion of the permanent hair color service.  Mac Makeup was used for her Photo-Shoot.  The Photo-Shoot was held on Melbourne Beach Florida.

CHI® Enviro Firm Hold Hairspray – 12 oz. Thumbs Up!

If you are in need of a hair spray with holding power and not a stiff fee to it. I would highly recommend Enviro Firm Hold Hair Spray.  I did a few photo-shoots a few weeks ago and this product held up to the windy conditions of the beach.  This product worked well and did not leave a residue to the hair and I also could easily re-iron the hair if I wanted to.

  • Lightweight
  • Versatile spray
  • No build up
  • Firm Hold

Give it a try everyone!!

Shea Moisture Detangler

Going to the beach or just combing out your hair after a shower can be at times painful to others. I recently bought a new product called Coconut and Hibiscus Detangler from Shea Moisture.  Which I took to the beach and my wife loved it. Since she has very curly hair she needs to be able to not let it dry with all the salt water in it. In this it will make it quit hair and breakable.

Though the product is made for kids everyone can use this product with great success. It came in a large 12oz bottle and a sprayer attached to apply to the hair.

It’s time to show those nagging curls their right place, it’s time for Shea Moisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Kids Extra Moisturizing Detangler. This hair care product is nothing short of a magic potion that will bring bounce and life back in your child’s hair!
An absolute must have hair moisturizer from Shea Moisture, this nourishing detangler contains certified organic Shea Butter, which is essential in keeping hair frizz-free and soft as silk. Slippery Elm Extract makes hair smooth to touch while Coconut Oil hydrates, and helps in defining curls. It also contains Hibiscus Flower Extracts to add luster and volume to hair, giving those kiddie curls extra bounce!
Shea Moisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus Kids Extra Moisturizing Detangler protects and moisturizes hair from roots to ends. Its natural ingredients make it completely safe for use by children of all age groups. Apply sparingly on wet or dry hair and watch as this product weaves its magic to transform your child’s wavy, curly hair to beautiful, frizz-free, glossy curls!

Give it a try everyone its great and it is also good as a cutting solution.

Be Careful When Changing The Tone Of Your Blonde.

During your time with blonde hair. You have to be very careful when changing the tone or making it lighter.  Water especially in the Orlando area has a lot of chemicals in it. AND WILL ADD A YELLOWING TO YOU LOVELY BLONDE HAIR COLOR.

When changing your tone of blonde or going lighter remember blonde hair is the most fragile to work with. You have pretty much taken out a lot of the melanin in the hair shaft. And the shaft itself can become very weak and dry and brittle.

That is why it is good not to over wash the hair, especially with alkaline hair care products. Alkaline hair care products will swell up the cuticle of the hair and give you huge frizzy hair. And what will happen is you will end up using a lot of hair care products to just tame it down. And make it manageable.

Highlighting the hair over and over will cause dryness and breakage to the hair. You will loose tinsel strength and just unruly hair to work with. If you are at that period it is best to just cut it off. Here are some tips for you blonde hair and hair care advice.

  • Don’t wash you hair everyday. You can use condition on the shaft and ends of the hair and that will make it clean. And did you know conditions are just low grade shampoos.
  • Use a wide tooth comb to comb out the tangles and to apply treatments to the hair. A lot of people will use brushes on the hair to comb it out. DON’T. ESPECIALLY WITH BLONDE HAIR. THAT IS A NO-NO.
  • I highly recommend the Shea Moisture hair care line.

Towel dry the hair before placing any hair care products on. If there is too much moisture (water) in the hair it will dilute the hair care product. I will hope this has brought you some good advice.
