Holiday Makeup Tips For Special Engagements

2020 Joseph Kellner Hair/Makeup/Photo-Shoots

Whether you’ve always wanted to try fake eyelashes or a bright red lipstick, the holidays are the time to try something new. Practice makes perfect. Always test your new look first before your big debut, ensuring you will look and feel your best.

A little sparkly shadow on the eyelids is an easy way to dress up your eye makeup in less than ten seconds. Check out this glam tutorial to help you nail the look. If looking like a disco ball isn’t your thing, go for a more natural, cream highlight and matte lip, or use glitter as a little pop in the center of your eye-shadow for a subtle effect.

The cold, winter months can leave our skin looking dull and dry. Cream blush is an excellent way to add extra radiance and hydration at the same time. When choosing a brighter color, make sure you blend, blend and blend on the cheeks until it looks natural and smooth. The key is starting with a light touch and softly adding pigment as you go.

Use high-quality brushes to apply eye shadow. Otherwise, your makeup could disperse.

If you choose a bright color, make the rest of your makeup simple. Otherwise, it can create a clown effect.

Harsh lip-lines will ruin your look. It’s best to blend lines.

Don’t stick to only black eyeliner. You can try using different colors according to your skin tone. Brown colors, from light to dark, are best suited to light skin colors, especially with green eyes and blonde hair.

Always choose a larger brush for applying face powder so that it lies as accurately as possible.

Don’t skip filling in your eyebrows if they are sparse. Don’t use dark pencils – it’s better to use an eye shadow combined with an angled brush instead.

In case you need to lighten foundation that is darker than you need, apply it with a wet sponge. You can also mix it with different beauty products, such as concealer or powder that are lighter in color, moisturizer or primer.

Trying a new makeup look for the holidays is no fun if you’re in a rush. Create an experience, put on your favorite playlist, light a scented candle and enjoy playing with makeup. Have just as much fun putting on your makeup as wearing it.
